blind contour plants - the beginning
recently i've been acquiring more plants to occupy the little window in the space i've come to occupy in brooklyn. inspired by a portland friend (check out her instagram) i have been dipping back into one of the fundamental drawing practices - blind contour drawings.
house plants have been such an inspiration to my recovery from last year; pruning, letting the old pieces of myself die, going through wilting periods of time, slowly reaching out with new roots, and allowing myself to finally grow again. i've been through a lot this last year - while mostly self inflicted, it's been a long season and it finally feels like i'm peering around a corner to a new season. as spring starts to slowly peek through in new york i'm looking forward to the new growth between my plants and i. it's time to be patient, soak in that sun, and continue to grow.
